As Parish Priest of St. Michael’s Church, Sharjah, it gives me immense pleasure to welcome you to our website. This website has been designed to assist our visitors by providing information on the Church and it various activities.

Founded in 1971 the old St. Michael’s Church was actually the old British Airforce officers mess. Under the guidance of his Excellency Reverend Bishop Bernard Gremoli, Fr. Angelo Fiumicelli and his team worked painstakingly to get the present Church building ready.  The building, an architectural work of art, is able to accommodate more than 1300 parishioners at a time and was consecrated on 2nd October 1997 by His Eminence Cardinal Francis Arinze.

St. Michael’s Church caters to the spiritual needs of the Catholic residents of Sharjah comprising of expatriates from different parts of the world. Many priests have served this parish with great dedication.  They are Fathers Barnabas, Attilio, Edmund, Antonio, Felicio, Godwin, Angelo and their able assistants Fathers Eusebius, Titus, Joseph and George.

At present co-pastoring the parish along with me, under the direction of His Excellency Reverend Bishop Paul Hinder, are Fr. Michael Parooseril and Fr. Dinesh (Diego) Mendonsa.

It has been our constant endeavor to be at the service of our faithful at all times. The launching of our website is another step in this direction, I do hope and pray to the Almighty God to help us make effective use of this medium to reach out to His flock.
